美인플레 걱정 … 바이든 "푸틴발 가격 폭등세"

조 바이든 미국 대통령은 우크라이나사태에 확고한 입장을 표명했습니다. 우크라이나에  군수물자 등을 지원을 아끼지 않지만 군사개입은 하지 않겠다는 것입니다. 바이든 대통령은 "우크라이나에서 러시아와 3차대전을 하지 않을 것"이라고 밝혔습니다. 우크라이나를 침공한 러시아는 우크라이나의 결사 저항과 국제 사회의 비난 여론에 시달리면서도 우크라이나 군 주요시설에 대한 공격을 멈추지 않고 있습니다. 결국 미국은 러시아에 대한 경제제재 강도를 높히며 러시아가 스스로 곤경에 빠질 것으로 보고 있습니다.  하지만 두 대국의 대립으로 원자재와 곡물가격이 뛰고 원유값이 오르는 등 세계의 국민들이 인플레의 공포에 휩싸여 있습니다.  

Yesterday, I traveled to Texas to tour a VA clinic and speak about the need to care for veterans who have encountered environmental hazards. Veterans are the backbone of this country — the very best of us. And we owe it to them, and their families, to do better.

Today, I brought together business leaders and governors to discuss their support for the Bipartisan Innovation Act and the need to increase computer chip manufacturing. I urge Congress to send the bill to my desk as soon as possible.

오늘 저는 기업인, 주지사들과 함께했습니다. 초당적인 혁신법을 위한 그들의 지원과 컴퓨터칩 제조를 늘릴 필요성 등에 대해 토의했습니다. 저는 의회에 가능한 빨리 그 법안을 내 책상으로 보내길 촉구합니다.

This afternoon, I took a virtual tour of two Siemens facilities — one in California and one in Texas. Because of the investments our infrastructure law delivers, Siemens is upgrading and expanding these facilities — creating 300 new good-paying jobs.

Today I welcomed President Niinistö of Finland to the White House to talk about European security. During our meeting, we called PM Magdalena Andersson of Sweden to discuss enhancing our cooperation. Both countries are valued defense partners to the United States and NATO.

Before the American Rescue Plan, only 46% of schools across the country were open in-person. Today, 99% of schools are open safely. I stopped by a school in Philadelphia today to celebrate the progress we've made.

미국 구제법안이 없을 당시에는 전국 학교의 45%만이 학교 문을 열었는데 오늘 99%의 학교가 안전하게 문을 열었습니다. 저는 오늘 필라델피아에 있는 한 학교에 들러 우리가 해낸 진보를 축하했습니다.
